Meet the founder
Elly Abbasi | Founder & Managing Director
Axion Advisory was founded by Elly, a senior finance leader with over 13 years of international experience in financial leadership, corporate advisory, and strategic transformation. With a career spanning Australia, and the Middle East, she has developed a distinctly global perspective, combining international best practice with a deep understanding of the regional dynamics that shape businesses in the UAE and across the Gulf.
In addition to her advisory practice, Elly serves as CFO and Independent Strategic Finance Advisor at Women in Advisory, a global community bringing together women who serve on advisory boards, steering committees, and strategic councils across industries and markets. Through this role, Elly contributes to a mission she is deeply passionate about, revolutionising business through diverse perspectives, strategic collaboration, and inclusive leadership. Women in Advisory's UAE-based Rising Chairs Initiative is one example of this mission in action, training Emirati women to step into board chair roles and building a more diverse and representative leadership landscape across the region.
Elly has worked closely with founders, executive teams, and boards to bring clarity to complex financial challenges, from building scalable financial frameworks and strengthening cash flow visibility, to supporting capital raising, business valuation, governance reform, and end-to-end business transformation. Her cross-border experience means she understands how businesses think, operate, and grow across very different regulatory, cultural, and economic environments.
With a strong foundation in strategic finance, business valuation, ERP and systems implementation, and IFRS-based reporting, Elly takes a practical, execution-focused approach to every engagement. She has advised businesses on valuation across multiple contexts, including pre-investment readiness, mergers and acquisitions, and shareholder restructuring, bringing rigour and commercial clarity to some of the most consequential decisions a business can face. She believes that finance, done well, should be one of the most powerful strategic tools a business has, not simply a reporting obligation.
A sought-after speaker on strategic finance, digital transformation, and AI-enabled financial leadership, Elly also dedicates time to mentoring finance teams and emerging leaders, helping organisations build stronger internal capability, reduce talent attrition, and raise the standard of financial thinking from within.
